In what seems to have been one of the wettest weeks we have had for a while, we have recently finished a wheelchair accessible 100m Zip Wire for Portland College near Mansfield.
The week itself was so wet we have a small river running through site, but the team worked hard to complete for the deadline and even thought the pictures are a little gloomy, the finished product is great. The Zip Wire start platform is accessible via a low gradient ramp with the main platform being large enough to allow wheelchairs to turn around. The participants will then speed along to the lowering point, were they would be safely slowed by the Zip Stop we installed. Once they have stopped they can either self lower or be assisted by the instructor into their wheelchair to make their way down the ramp.
The team were very happy to complete and get dried out afterwards!
